Apply for the Qualifying Farms Tax Abatement

The Board of Selectmen of the Town of Woodstock believes that the  preservation of farmland and open space is vitally important to  retaining Woodstock’s rural character and its high quality of life.    Please read the full ordinance here.

Approved  tax abatements will be added to the tax roll on October 1, 2022 and  will become effective with the tax year beginning July 1, 2023. The  abatement will be effective for five years or until the farm is sold or  ceases to be a farm. The upcoming five-year period begins October 1,  2022 and ends on September 30, 2027. 

To apply for the Qualifying Farms Tax Abatement, please fill out this application. Please submit completed, notarized forms to the First Selectmen’s office as soon as possible.
