Year Up Senior Night Virtual Info Session on Free Tech Careers Training Program for Young Adults Ages 18-26

Year Up is hosting this virtual session for all current high school seniors and their parents/guardians/siblings who are interested in learning more about Year Up’s free one-year program (6-month classroom training & 6-month corporate internship) in 4 different tech career pathways:

  • Quality Assurance
  • Application Development
  • Desktop Support/Helpdesk
  • Business Operations & Project Management Support
WHEN: Thurs May 19, 2022 @ 6pm-7:30pm via Zoom – The Year Up training program begins Fall 2022 and is Full-Time, Mon-Fri 9AM-5PM

Port of Seattle’s Youth Maritime Career Launch RFP – $1 Million Available - Application Deadline Thurs July 7

The Port’s Department of Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion is seeking organizations to provide career launch opportunities in maritime industries in the Puget Sound region for youth and young adults ages 16-24 years, with a particular focus on youth from overburdened communities and vulnerable populations. The Port is aiming to award three to four

contracts for this effort and encourages collaboration between proposing organizations. RFP pre-proposal virtual conference on May 18 @ 2pm

AJAC Advanced Manufacturing Academy Pre-Apprenticeship Job Training Program (10-week, half-time) in-person or online class options – Summer 2022

IN-PERSON CLASS OPTION: June 27-Sept 1 Mon-Thu 8am-1pm @ Green River College Kent Station campus

ONLINE VIRTUAL CLASS OPTION: June 28-Sept 1 Mon-Fri 8am-12pm

COST: cost is 100% covered if you meet program requirements and are eligible for workforce education grant funding for those with low incomes

Minimum requirements include:

  • 18+ years old
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Desire to develop and attain mechanical abilities and interests
  • English competency at an intermediate level
  • Math skills at a pre-algebra level or ability to learn PEMDAS
